Srinagar (India), Wednesday, December 28, 2022: Three Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist have been eliminated by the security forces during an encounter on the outskirts of Dist. Jammu. The Forces on specific input intercepted a truck in which they were travelling and gunfight ensued. During the gunfight the truck caught fire and fire tenders were called to douse the fire.
Mukesh Singh, ADG of Jammu Police in his statement said “There was suspicious movement of a truck in the area. Police stopped the truck at check post. As security forces approaching the truck for search, terrorists hiding inside opened fire at the security forces. The security forces, immediately sealed the area and stopped the traffic along the route to obviate any collateral damage. Security forces retaliated the fire and in ensuing gun battle, three terrorists have been killed on the spot. However, the driver managed to escape. Search for the truck driver is on.
As per official statement, the said encounter commenced at 7 AM. Yesterday also, the security forces have seized an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), arms and ammunition in Udhampur area and averted a major terrorist attack. The cylindrical IED had 300-400 grams of RDX which was later demolished safely.
