The woman is currently at a hospital and is in critical condition. In connection with an alleged attempt on the life of a 30-year-old woman by her in-laws, the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) has issued a notice to the city police.
The Commission has given the Delhi Police until Monday evening to submit an Action Taken Report (ATR) on the case.
The DCW received a complaint from the woman’s relatives, according to a statement.
The woman’s father told DCW that he received a call on Friday informing him that his daughter had been admitted to the hospital after slipping down the stairs.
When he went to his daughter’s residence, he said that neighbours informed him that his daughter had been shoved over the roof.
According to the statement, he said that his daughter’s in-laws have been tormenting her since she married three years ago.
According to the DCW, she is currently in a hospital in a critical condition.
It further requested that the woman’s account be recorded before a magistrate in the hospital itself.
In its notification to the Delhi Police, the DCW requested that a FIR be filed and that the offenders be arrested promptly.
