There is a long list&#8230;&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Riya Gupta, New Delhi<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Along with common phrases like &#8220;ashamed,&#8221; &#8220;abused,&#8221; &#8220;betrayed,&#8221; &#8220;corrupt,&#8221; &#8220;drama,&#8221; &#8220;hypocrisy,&#8221; and &#8220;incompetent,&#8221; &#8220;Jumlajeevi,&#8221; &#8220;baal buddhi,&#8221; &#8220;Covid spreader,&#8221; and &#8220;Snoopgate&#8221; have been added to a list of words deemed unacceptable for use in parliament before to the commencement of a new session on Monday.<br>The Lok Sabha secretariat has released a new handbook listing unparliamentary phrases for both houses, prompting immediate concerns from opposition legislators who claim it will limit their capacity to criticise the administration.<br>The unparliamentary words booklet is to be released ahead of the Monsoon session, which starts on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But when it comes to removing phrases and terms, the Speaker of the Lok Sabha and the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha will have the final say.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The decree infuriated the opposition, and Derek O&#8217;Brien of Trinamool issued an open challenge, stating that he would continue to use the phrases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Session begins in a few days <br><br>GAG ORDER ISSUED ON MPs. <br><br>Now, we will not be allowed to use these basic words while delivering a speech in <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Parliament?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Parliament<\/a> : Ashamed. talk about how Indians have been misled by an inept government who should be embarrassed of their hypocrisy?&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Lok Sabha secretariat&#8217;s list has a disclaimer stating that certain terms may not be considered impermissible unless they are used in conjunction with other words used during parliamentary proceedings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The list of prohibited statements also includes any disparaging remarks directed towards the Chair in either English or Hindi, which are deemed unparliamentary and removed from the Parliament&#8217;s records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>English words listed as unparliamentary<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The English words listed as unparliamentary include \u2019bloodshed\u2019, \u2019bloody\u2019, \u2019betrayed\u2019, \u2019ashamed\u2019, \u2019abused\u2019, \u2019cheated, \u2019chamcha\u2019, \u2019chamchagiri\u2019, \u2019chelas\u2019, \u2019childishness\u2019, \u2019corrupt\u2019, \u2019coward\u2019, \u2019criminal\u2019 and \u2019crocodile tears\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Besides words like \u2019disgrace\u2019, \u2019donkey\u2019, \u2019drama\u2019, \u2019eyewash\u2019, \u2019fudge\u2019, \u2019hooliganism\u2019, \u2019hypocrisy\u2019, \u2019incompetent\u2019, \u2019mislead\u2019, \u2019lie\u2019 and \u2019untrue\u2019 would also be prohibited for use in Parliament henceforth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Unparliamentary Hindi words<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hindi words listed as unparliamentary include \u2019anarchist\u2019, \u2019gaddar\u2019, \u2019girgit\u2019, \u2019goons\u2019, \u2019ghadiyali ansu\u2019, \u2019apmaan\u2019, \u2019asatya\u2019, \u2019ahankaar\u2019, \u2019corrupt\u2019, \u2019kala din\u2019, \u2019kala bazaari\u2019 and \u2019khareed farokht\u2019.<br>Besides, words like \u2019danga\u2019, \u2019dalal\u2019, \u2019daadagiri\u2019, \u2019dohra charitra\u2019, \u2019bechara\u2019, \u2019bobcut\u2019, \u2019lollypop\u2019, \u2019vishwasghat\u2019, \u2019samvedanheen\u2019, \u2019foolish\u2019, \u2019pitthu\u2019, \u2019behri sarkar\u2019 and \u2019sexual harassment\u2019 would be considered as unparliamentary and would not be included as part of record.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Riya Gupta, New Delhi Along with common phrases like &#8220;ashamed,&#8221;
